Tow to Go is available December 20 through January 1
TAMPA, Fla. — To help make sure everyone has a safe ride home, AAA and Bud Light will offer the Tow to Go program for the holidays. The program is designed to help discourage an intoxicated driver from getting behind the wheel. Anyone, AAA member or not, can call for a Tow to Go ride, December 20 – January 1. One in three (36%) consumers always use a designated driver after drinking, yet one in five (20%) reported rarely or never using one, shows AAA Consumer Pulseâ„¢ survey. “Around Christmas and New Year‘s Eve, calls for Tow to Go have historically spiked,” said Gerry Gutowski, Sr. Vice President, Automotive Services, The Auto Club Group. “AAA has always played a critical role each holiday weekend by protecting motorists on our roadways, however, it is everyone‘s responsibility to make good decisions and always choose a designated driver if you have been drinking.” In the past year, consumers reported several popular ways to thank their designated drivers, ranging from paying for dinner to buying a tank of gas. “We‘re pleased to partner with AAA and their roadside service drivers to keep our roads safe during the holiday season,” said Kathy Casso, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility, Anheuser-Busch. “There‘s no better gift any one can give than being a designated driver, and thanks to Tow to Go, anyone who may have had too much to drink can get a safe ride home during the holidays.” Since its inception in 1998, Tow to Go has safely removed more than 22,000 intoxicated drivers from the roads. The service is designed to be used as a last resort. It is offered based on availability of AAA drivers and tow trucks during times of high call volume. The Auto Club Group has provided the Tow to Go service for more than 15 years because it allows AAA to protect the freedom and mobility of motorists on our roadways.
