Police Investigate Counterfeit Money

OBION CO., Tenn. — Union City Police are investigating a recent rash of counterfeit money in the area. On Dec. 14, police were called to Uptown North convenience store about a person attempting to use a counterfeit $20 bill. Also on Dec. 14, an unknown male successfully used a counterfeit $20 bill at the Save A Lot. The Auto Zone on 1409 S First Street was also targeted. A customer made a purchase using three fake $20 bills and cashed three other $20 bills. She tried to return the purchase, which was denied. Police are urging businesses and consumers to be on the lookout for $20 bills without watermarks.
