Stores Offer Big Deals for Last Minute Shoppers

JACKSON, Tenn. — If you’re a late Christmas shopper or simply pinching your pennies, retailers like Old Navy are trying to sweeten deals for your last minute gifts. “The biggest deal we have going on today is the five dollar fleece tops, as well as the $1, $2, $3 fleece items, we have $1 fleece hats,” Steve Smith says, Old Navy Store Manger. Smith says they’re staying open late this year for last minute shoppers. But Smith adds that even though gifts are important, safety should come first. “The best thing is to shop in groups,” Smith said. “Don’t shop by yourself, always have at least two people with you,” When shopping late at night Smith advises people with bags to carry as little as possible and make sure you have your keys ready before you leave the store. “As far as ladies are concerned always strap your purse on if you can come without a purse would be the best thing, put it in your truck in your car,” Smith said. If you still haven’t gotten any shopping done Old Navy says they’ll be open every day until midnight all the way up until Christmas Eve. Old Navy says shoppers can expect to see bigger sales on Sunday morning.
