Police Investigate Monday Morning Shooting

WEST JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating a Monday morning shooting. Shortly before 1 a.m., officers were called about a shooting at a duplex on the 40 block of Carolane Drive. A 26-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. The man was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where he was treated and released. Based on the preliminary investigation, a second man was leaving the apartment. When the door opened, the suspect was standing outside and shot into the apartment striking the victim. The only available description of the shooter is a black man with a shirt tied around his face.
