Man Arrested For Sending Nude Images to Minor Girl

JONESBORO, Ark. — A 70-year-old man is in custody after police say that he solicited a 14-year-old girl for sex. According to investigators, Marvin Deeds, 70, made contact with a 14-year-old minor female and her mother from Jonesboro, Arkansas, on the Internet. Deeds began communication with her mother and daughter through email and text messages. In the communications, Deeds began soliciting sex from the 14-year-old minor. Deeds reportedly sent nude images of himself along with a nude images of a prepubescent minor female to the 14-year-old. Deeds describes the communications specific sex acts that he intended to perform with the 14-year-old to include acts of penetration. He planned to meet the mother and 14-year-old daughter for the purposes carrying out his plans of having sex with the daughter. The Jonesboro PD Internet Crimes Against Children Investigators (ICAC) contacted the JPD ICAC for assistance after discovering that Deeds is a Tennessee resident from Ridgely. The Ridgely PD and Lake County Sheriff‘s Office responded to the complaint and executed a search warrant at Deeds‘ residence in Ridgely. During the execution of the search warrant, Deeds admitted to investigators that he had planned to meet with the mother and daughter for sex and also to sending the images. Deeds was taken into custody and charged with two counts of soliciting sexual exploration of a minor and one count of soliciting aggravated statutory rape. Deeds will appear before a judge on Jan. 2 2014 where will be arraigned and possibly have a bond set. Preliminary investigation suggests that Deeds may have possibly contacted other minors on the internet. Anyone who has been contacted by Deeds should contact the Ridgely PD at 731
