MICHIE, Tenn. – Louise Fowler is on edge after thieves break into her garage and take off with her neighbor’s truck. “I’ve been living here a year and a half since my husband died by myself and I never have been nervous or felt insecure, but now, it’s kind of live they took a little of my security,” Fowler said. Investigators said thieves cut there way into the garage of Fowler’s Michie home late Sunday night, and attempted to get away with her golf cart. But when they couldn’t get it to start, the criminals ditched it in the yard. “They didn’t know how to start it in the cold weather, so I think that’s the only reason we still have the golf cart,” Fowler said. Investigators said the thieves then targeted the house across the street, stealing a 2005 white Ford Explorer Sport Trac out of the driveway. “She kept it clean and took such good care of it, so it just had a special meaning to her cause her father gave it to her,” Fowler said. Victims said what’s most disturbing is it feels like the alleged thieves were watching them, and knew exactly what they were doing when they commit the burglaries.” “I think and she does too that it’s someone that knows us, that knew the area, knew the people,” Fowler said. “That’s hurts more because it becomes personal.” It leaves the victims wondering when and if they thieves will strike again. “Now, I know know they know what I have in that shop because there were things sitting there that they could’ve taken that they didn’t,” Fowler said. If you have any information on either of these cases, call the McNairy County Sheriff’s Department.
