BREAKING: Suspect in Custody in Liberty Tech Shooting
EAST JACKSON — A suspect is in custody after another student was shot in the leg outside the building at Liberty Technology around dismissal time on Thursday. According to police, the suspect is 16 years old, and the victim is 17 years old. The victim was shot in the thigh. The student is in stable condition. The suspect was arrested away from the school, according to Jackson Police. Buses were detained briefly but are leaving the school now.
