Statement From Jackson-Madison County Schools About Liberty Shooting

EAST JACKSON — After a shooting at Liberty Tech Magnet School, Ginger Carver, the PR Specialist at JMCSS, released this statement: “This afternoon on the campus of Liberty Technology Magnet High School, a student was shot in the leg while school was being dismissed. According to information received from the Jackson Police Department, the student‘s injuries were not life threatening. The Jackson Police Department officers have been on the campus and temporarily detained all buses. The suspect left the campus in a car but has already been apprehended and arrested by JPD. Liberty buses have now been released.” WBBJ will have more details as this is a developing story.
