WEAKLEY CO, Tenn. — A teacher from Gleason High School was arrested and charged Tuesday after he allegedly provided alcohol and marijuana to students. Ryan Burke, 30, has been charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and and two counts of providing alcohol to a minor after investigators say he supplied alcohol and marijuana to four male Gleason High School students. School officials said the investigation started after pictures on social media sites alarmed parents who then made complaints to the superintendent’s office. The last time it is believed to have happened was on Dec. 24, 2013. Investigators say the incidents starting happening some time in September 2013. All of the alleged incidents took place in Burke’s home. None of the incidents took place on school property. Burke was booked into the Weakley County Jail on Tuesday Jan. 14 and is currently free on bond and will be arraigned in General Sessions Court. Burke was suspended from his job as a Gleason High School agriculture teacher by the Weakley County board of education at the start of the investigation.
