Pair Charged After Deputies Say They Stole Trailers

JACKSON, Tenn. — Two people have been arrested and are facing theft and trespassing charges after deputies say the pair stole two trailers within a month. On Jan. 10, shortly before 4:30 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff‘s Office received a call of theft of property of a motor vehicle at 445 New Deal Road. A witness observed a male and a female at the residence in a red pickup truck with a sign on the side of the truck that said “Clean Up.” On Jan. 14, deputies observed the red truck that fit the description in the vicinity of Hwy. 70 East. Occupants of the truck Michael A. Stoltz and Mendy Faith Reese, both 40 and of Cedar Grove, were interviewed and later formally charged with Theft of Property of a motor vehicle over $1,000, Criminal Trespass, and Vandalism. Upon further investigation in a separate incident, investigators also discovered that Stoltz and Reese also stole a trailer from 221 Key Senter Road during mid-December 2013. They have also been charged Theft of Property over $500 for this incident. Stoltz and Reese appeared in General Sessions Court, Division I Friday morning. Michael Stoltz‘s bond was set at $15,000. Mendy Reese‘s bond was set at $10,000. Their preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 30, at 1:00 p.m. in General Sessions Court, Division I.
