Kindergarten’s Participate in Reading Challenge

BEMIS, Tenn. — Kindergarten students at an area school gave themselves quite an education challenge, Friday. Kindergartners at The Montessori School at Bemis challenged themselves to read 100 books in 30 minutes in celebration of the 100th kindergarten class. Between the three kindergarten classes, the students read 300 books. Middle school students and guest readers from the community included Mayor Gist, Mayor Harris and local firefighters. Each title read was written on a sticky note and posted on a wall in the classroom to be counted.
