JACKSON, Tenn.- Congratulations to Jackson-Madison County’s Madison Academic Magnet High School as it has been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2014. To be considered for the honor a school must be among the highest performing or show exemplary improvement and Madison is among the highest performing schools in the state. Now that they are nominated Madison school leaders still must complete the process by filling out forms and accessing their own programs. “In-house it just simply means that what we’re doing is working. We think we have a strategy as to what makes us successful, we live by it and everybody buys into it,” said Janice Epperson, principal at Madison Academic. Madison will find out if it has been chosen in September. Representatives of each National Blue Ribbon School will attend a formal recognition ceremony in Washington, D.C. in November.
