HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Huntingdon Police confirmed one person is dead after a late night shooting, Sunday. The shooting happened at 328 Hunt Street at around 11:54 p.m, according to Capt. Johnny Hill with Huntingdon Police Department. “Every 4 or 5 years we’ll have something of this magnitude but outside of that we usually don’t work on these on a regular basis,” Hill said. Police are looking for persons of interests who might have left in a maroon Ford F-150. Investigators tell us the victim, 26 year-old Houston Dewayne Brown, had a child but they are not sure if the child was at home when the shots were fired. Brown was taken in a personal vehicle to Baptist Hospital of Huntingdon, where he later died. “I’m just totally shocked by the whole thing, “Russ Hillard said, who lives in the area. “And I think it’s gonna take a while for it to sink in because this is a peaceful place, there’s nothing that goes on.” According to Captain Hill, they’ve been called to the house before on drug related problems but they’re not sure if that has anything to do with the shooting. “I think that’s going to be the biggest adjustment is just not looking down there and seeing him and he comes out to feed his dogs,” Hillard said. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is helping with investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Huntingdon Police at (731) 986-5310.
