MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. – Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork faces a judge Wednesday morning, for not properly responding to an ouster lawsuit filed by the Madison County Commission to remove him from office.

Judge Don Ash will hear a motion to temporarily remove Woolfork from office, after his attorney Mark Donahoe reportedly failed to file the proper response in regards to the county‘s ouster lawsuit. Woolfork could be reinstated, pending the outcome of an ouster trial.

Woolfork refused to resign after an independent investigation performed by Dickinson Wright Law firm out of Nashville found the Sheriff sexually harassed two Madison County employees.

Last month county commissioners voted 21-2 to approve two sexual harassment settlements. Deputy Sharon Sangster was awarded $210,000 and Lt. Lisa Balderrama $130,000 in the settlement. The county was only responsible to pay the $500 insurance deductible for each claim.

Woolfork‘s affairs became public, after a domestic incident at Sangster‘s home in Jackson on Oct. 10. Woolfork has been indicted on charges of attempted aggravated sexual battery and domestic battery in connection to the allegations.

A judge ordered Sheriff Woolfork to surrendered his weapons, granting Sangster‘s order of protection against him Oct. 23

Woolfork has not been convicted of any wrongdoing.
