Florist Gear Up for Valentine’s Day

JACKSON, Tenn.- Friday is Valentine’s Day and that means if you have not ordered flowers for your valentine, the clock is ticking. Thursday, workers at area florists were about as busy as it gets as they gear up for Valentine’s Day. It is one of the busiest days of the year for florists, whether they are delivering or preparing arrangements for love birds to pick up. Shop owners said flowers are always a good choice to show your love and appreciation. “I think it’s important. It lets you know your loved one that you do appreciate them that you are thinking of them and that you don’t take them for granted,” said Chris Maxwell, owner of Sands Old Hickory Florist in Jackson. According to the website, statisticsbrain.com, cards are the top gift on Valentine’s Day, followed by candy, flowers, dining out and jewelry rounds out the top five.
