Four Suspects Arrested After Savannah Home Invasion

SAVANNAH, Tenn. – Two men and two women are behind bars, accused of raiding and burglarizing a home, according to Savannah police. Billy Chappell said he was at work when he received a call around 4 a.m. from his daughters, who told him that thieves had broken into their home. The 14-year-old twins, Laquisha and Naquisha, hid in the bathroom during the home invasion. “I’m nervous, want to just make sure they’re all right,” Billy Chappell said regarding the chilling phone call. “That’s my main concern. The rest of that stuff is replaceable.” The family’s television, Nintendo Wii, laptop and other valuables were stolen. Chappell said he had suspicions about who the thieves were. So after calling a local investigator, he followed a car that he believed was carrying the stolen items. “They made it through Crump and Adamsville, and we got into Selmer and he (the investigator) told me he had an officer that was going to pull them over,” Chappell said. “And he pulled them over, and come to find out that’s where all my stuff was.” Investigators arrested Levante Reid, Michael Scott, Asia Bailey and Kristin Qualls. Family members said it’s hard watching the single father go through something so terrifying “He works every day for everything that he got,” the victim’s nephew Darius Chappell said. “For somebody to come in and take something that he works hard for, that’s low.” The four suspects are charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000.
