Gas Prices Soar in Recent Days

EAST JACKSON — West Tennesseans may have noticed a jump in gasoline prices across since last week At some gas stations in Jackson, the price jumped from around $3.00 a gallon to $3.17. According to GasBuddy.com, across Tennessee prices on the average have risen 5.7 cents per gallon. Commuters say the prices are hitting families hard but there’s nothing they can do about it. “Makes it harder on all the families,” Stepheney King, a local driver, said. “I can tell you that cause I mean just to fill up and try and get to work every day.” Prices Sunday were 38.1 cents per gallon lower than the same day in 2013 and are 7 cents higher than a month ago.
