Police: Pair Shoplifts From Store with Baby in Cart
NORTH JACKSON — Police are still on the lookout for two women they say stole more than $350 worth of merchandise from a Wal-Mart, last month. On Jan. 9 at around 11 a.m., officers responded to the Walmart on Emporium Dr. in reference to a theft of property. Investigators learned that two white females with two carts full of merchandise and a small child left with a cart-full of groceries without paying. Store workers say that the pair placed bagged items into the cart after they were scanned. Once 3/4 of the merchandise was in the cart, the female with the child stated that she needed to go change the child’s diaper and then walked away with the cart. The other female stood by and kept having merchandise scanned. After a short time, she walked away, and both walked out of the door with the merchandise without paying. The cost of the merchandise taken is about $375. Anyone with information is asked to contact Jackson police or Crimestoppers at 731-424-TIPS.
