Altrusa International Honors “Woman of the Year”
JACKSON, Tenn.-Altrusa International of Jackson honored its 62nd annual Woman of the Year, Tuesday night. Donna Agnew, the executive director of “Hands Up” Preschool is this year’s honoree. Dozens of West Tennesseans attended the evening program in honor of the long-time educator and mother. Agnew said she is honored by the recognition. “Like I said, I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for all the people that have helped me get here, so I just feel honored to be honored for the people,” said Donna Agnew, Woman of the Year. “Hands Up” is a private preschool for at-risk three and four-year olds. It opened two years ago after years of fundraising by Agnew.
