Police: Man Breaks Into Home, Doesn’t Take Anything

UNION CITY, Tenn. — A man accused of breaking into a home but not taking anything was arrested, Sunday. Police responded to North 2nd Street on Sunday and spoke with a man who said that his house was broken into through the kitchen window. However, after looking through the home, it was determined that nothing was stolen. A witness at the scene claimed they had seen a white male believed to be Tyler Higgins exit the front door of the residence. Higgins was later found by officers and taken to the police department where he admitted to breaking the window, entering the residence, attempting to leave through the back door and then exiting through the front door. Higgins is charged with Aggravated Burglary and will be back in court on Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. for his preliminary hearing.
