Dyersburg Police Arrest Three After Finding Drugs, Guns During Traffic Stop

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — A Dyersburg trio was formally charged for drug possession Friday morning after police say a routine traffic stop yielded various types of drugs. Three suspects will be arraigned Friday morning after Dyersburg Police arrested them on several gun and drug charges on Wednesday afternoon. Courtney Taylor, 29, Autumn Wilson, 24, and Patricia Wilson, 26, will appear in Dyersburg City Court together on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession a Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine). According to Dyersburg Police, the three were in a vehicle traveling down Highway 51 Bypass on Wednesday afternoon when they were pulled over. Patricia Wilson was reportedly driving the vehicle with Autumn Wilson in the passenger seat and Taylor in the backseat. While the officer was speaking with the Wilsons in the front, he noticed a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance beside Taylor’s leg. The officer ordered Taylor to place his hands on the passenger seat until further instruction. As the officer moved away from the vehicle, Taylor reportedly reached down in the seat and appeared to be hiding something. Taylor was ordered out of the vehicle and the baggie was gone. Consent was given to search the vehicle and the officer found the baggie in the floor, but it only contained a small amount of the powder, which was believed to be cocaine. Police say another baggie was found with Xanax. The officer searched the front seat and also found a loaded .38-caliber revolver in Patricia Wilson’s purse in the front passenger floorboard. The Wilsons denied the gun belonged to them. Autumn Wilson stated it was Taylor’s and Patricia Wilson stated she was holding the gun for someone in the car, but would not say which person. The three were taken into custody and were booked into the Dyer County Jail. While going through processing, corrections staff found a glass crack pipe inside Patricia Wilson’s bra. Autumn and Patricia Wilson are also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Courtney Taylor had extra charges of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and tampering with evidence. Patricia Wilson also received an extra charge of driving on a suspended license.
