Update:12:55 p.m. JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson police have a 25-year-old man from Oakfield in custody following an early Sunday morning shooting outside a north Jackson hotel. Four men were injured. According to investigators, two of the victims, a 24-year-old from Jackson and a 21-year-old from Brownsville are in critical condition at The MED in Memphis. A third victim, a 23-year-old from Jackson is listed in critical but stable condition at a Jackson hospital. The fourth victim was treated and released. Police said the shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. outside the Roadway Inn along the Highway 45 Bypass. Right now police believe as people were leaving a party hosted by a woman from Brownsville, a fight broke out. Officers said shots were fired by at least two people. A rapid fire of gunshots erupted around 2:15 a.m. as a private party was letting out at the Roadway Inn near the Highway 45 Bypass and Interstate 40 Interchange, according to an officer on scene. At least 15 shell casings fired from handguns were recovered from the scene. At least two of the four victims were men, police say. All were transported to Jackson Madison County General Hospital. None of he injuries appear to be life-threatening. Police interviewed several eyewitnesses on the scene several hours after the shooting took place.
