DOWNTOWN JACKSON – A former Henderson County Sheriff was sentenced Wednesday morning for charges stemming from a 2012 shooting incident at a Jackson bar. Ricky Lunsford was sentenced to six years for using a firearm in commission of a felony and three years of suspended probation for attempted voluntary manslaughter. He will serve his three years of probation after his six-year sentence. Lunsford’s attorney, Mark Donahoe, has filed an appeal in the case and that hearing will be held on May 6 at 10 a.m. Lunsford was released Wednesday afternoon from the Madison Count Jail on $100,000 bond. On April 29 2013, investigators said Lunsford and his wife were both inside the Tap Bar and Grill when Lunsford forced her outside at gunpoint. Once in the parking lot, witnesses told police Lunsford began shooting at his wife, who was able to break free and run between some of the parked cars. Neither she nor the four witnesses in the parking lot were hurt. However, several of the cars were struck by the spray of gunfire
