Trio of Dyersburg Juveniles Arrested

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Three juveniles were arrested after a foot chase that led to the discovery of stolen guns, Wednesday morning. Right after 12:34 a.m. on Wednesday, Dyersburg Police responded to a call of some male suspects walking behind residences on Cornelian Drive. Three suspects were spotted running across Highway 51 Bypass near Wade Hampton and a foot chase ensued, resulting in the capture of the three suspects near Lowe’s. Two handguns were reportedly located on the ground where the suspects were being detained. One of the handguns was determined to be reported stolen from a vehicle in the West Lake area the previous night. The trio were all found to be juveniles and were charged with auto burglary, theft over $500, resisting stop-frisk-halt, unlawful possession of a firearm and curfew violations. A court date of March 26 was set for Dyer County Juvenile Court with one being released to a parent and the other two taken to the McDowell Center. The department is currently investigating a rash of car burglaries in the West Lake area and encourages all citizens to lock their vehicles and to refrain from leaving valuables and other property inside.
