LEXINGTON, Tenn. — Hundreds of vehicles were covered in pink, Saturday, after the “Ride for Holly” where West Tennesseans and some from as far away as Chicago, showed their support for the Bobo family. Each driver showed their love for the family of Holly Bobo the best way they could. “Show support like everybody else is. We felt like part of her family. We’ve been through it for 3 years with her,” Allisha McCready, a driver in the “Ride for Holly,” said. The cars carried prayers and a new message of hope: “Justice for Holly.” Jessie Stanfield said his wife was a good friend of Holly’s. They say the TBI’s announcement on Wednesday left them heartbroken. “It hit hard to my wife so I started thinking long and hard and I just came up with this little brainstorm idea and this is where it’s at right now,” Stanfield said. Other friends honor Holly for the person they remember. “She’s just a wonderful girl, all around everybody loved her, everybody knew her and it’s a big tragedy for this to happen,” Katie Scott, who played sports with Holly in high school, said. Scott said she still prays for the family every night. However, it wasn’t just friends who drove for Holly. Danielle Dubois, visiting all the way from Chicago, joined the caravan. “We extended our stay to hopefully bring justice for Holly,” Dubois said. Close friends of Holly’s say they will continue to hang pink ribbons on lamp posts and mailboxes and will now have a ride for Holly every year. “We’re gonna bring Holly home. That’s what we want, that’s what we intend to do today or try to. It just takes one small step,” Stanfield said. The ride ended at the Decatur County fairgrounds where supporters said a prayer for justice for Holly.
