WEST JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating an early morning burglary that caused a great deal of damage to a Super Way convenience store in West Jackson. Officers say around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, two men in dark clothing broke in and smashed the store’s ATM machine to pieces. The thieves reportedly smashed through the back door of the business and cut the building’s electricity. Officers say workers found broken light-bulbs and an empty cash drawer on the floor. When officers arrived, they spotted two suspects running away. After finding a van nearby with burglary tools, police say they have one person in custody and that person is being detained for questioning.
