Missing 71-year-old man found dead
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A 71-year-old man who went missing from his Olive Branch, Miss., home Monday has been found dead.
WMC-TV in Memphis (http://bit.ly/1edkz49 ) reports that the body of Kenneth Alvin Staten was discovered on Monday afternoon near an off ramp from U.S. 78 just south of the Tennessee state line. Olive Branch is a suburb of Memphis.
Staten’s wife reported him missing when she awakened in the middle of the night and noticed that he had gone. He reportedly suffered from medical problems that at times caused him to be confused and disoriented.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert, and rescue workers from the Olive Branch and DeSoto County searched the wooded areas near his home. A helicopter and all-terrain vehicles were also used in the search.
