CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. – The Scotts Hill High School teacher charged with aggravated statutory rape and solicitation of a minor statutory rape made his first court appearance Tuesday morning. Randy Hart was arraigned in Chester County Court Tuesday morning. His bond was set at $50,000, and Hart has bonded out. Sheriff Blair Weaver said Hart was put under house arrest with no computer access. Hart also cannot have contact with anyone under the age of 18, with the exception of his child. “It‘s completely mind blowing,” said Elizabeth Azevedo, a former church member. Azevedo said Hart served as her pastor growing up and baptized her about five years ago. “I would never never suspect this to hear anything like this from him,” she said. Hart was arrested on Monday afternoon after deputies say he contacted a minor through a smartphone app. Further investigation revealed that Hart and the minor had engaged in oral sex. “We had just been monitoring it,” said Weaver. “We had been monitoring phone calls or texts messages.” According to an affidavit, Hart and the teenage boy performed sex acts on each other and says Hart admitted to soliciting the minor and having sexual contact. “Don’t come to Chester County and mess with our kids,” Weaver said. If you or someone you know has had contact with Hart, either online or in person, you’re asked to contact the Chester County Sheriff’s Department.
