JACKSON, Tenn.- Children from the Boys and Girls Club kicked butts Wednesday… cigarette butts, that is. The club teamed up with the campaign for tobacco free kids to hold an anti smoking rally. There was also an anti-tobacco poster contest and all of the students signed a pledge to stay tobacco free. Health experts said that it is more effective to teach children when their young about the bad effects of tobacco. “If they take an investment in their health early it seems to pay off later on in life and they will be healthier,” said Chelsea Brandon of the Jackson-Madison County Health Department. This was the ninteenth annual “Kick Butts” day. More than 1,400 other events took place across the country..
