JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department’s Alcohol Countermeasures Team will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI enforcement throughout the city every weekend in March. During the checkpoints, officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways before they can cause any unnecessary injuries or deaths. However, as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well. This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
