Name Released of Victim of Fatal Brush Fire

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Law enforcement has released the name of the man who died in a brush fire on Monday afternoon. Richard Summitt, the land owner, had a permit to burn on his land, according to Chester County deputies. The fire happened on Dogwood Lane just before 5 p.m., officers believe. The flames got out of hand, and as he was trying to contain them, something went wrong. Deputies believe he may have been overcome by the smoke, but an autopsy will determine his exact cause of death.
