Investigators Following Leads for West Jackson Fire

WEST JACKSON — A suspicious fire that broke out at a West Jackson home has fire investigators following leads. Firemen say the electricity and gas services were off at the Burkett Street home and no one living there. The fire happened around 11 Sunday night. Investigators say no one was home at the time, but that doesn’t rule out that someone started the fire. “Even if we find a burn pattern where an accelerant was used, unless a witness or someone comes forward, we’ll just know that it was an arson fire but we really won’t know who started it,” Fire Chief Max Stewart with the Jackson Fire Department said. WBBJ has been told the home sustained significant damage.
