DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Dyersburg Police have confirmed that the human remains found earlier this week are that of Curtis Tyler, who has been missing since 2012. The positive identification was made through dental records. No cause of death has been released yet. On Tuesday, a turkey hunter made the discovery of Tyler’s body. Law enforcement said the hunter found the remains near the Forked Deer River in Dyersburg. When WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News sat down with Curtis’ family on Wednesday, they said as soon as the body was found, they were sure that it was their missing loved one. “It’s a relief somewhat but we don’t know why it was done,” Amanda Tyler, Curtis’ sister, said. “But someone hurt him.” Officers are asking anyone with any information regarding Tyler’s disappearance to contact the Dyer County’s Sheriff Department or the Dyersburg Police Department.
