Go Red for Women Raises Funds to Fight Heart Disease

JACKSON, Tenn.- Hundreds of West Tennesseans gathered in downtown Jackson to fight heart disease Tuesday night. The annual Go Red for Women event was presented by the American Heart Association. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News anchor Keli McAlister was the emcee of the event. Officials said it is important to realize how deadly heart disease is for women and how many lives the disease claims every year. “We need to leave here tonight and think of something we can change about our lifestyles so we ensure more days with our daughters,” said Christy Futrell with Go Red for Women. Heart disease is the number one killer of women. There is no word yet on how much money the event raised.
