Medina Mother Accused of Lying About Son’s Health Pleads Guilty

MEDINA, Tenn. — The mother accused of lying about her son‘s health to get donations entered a guilty plea in court on Thursday morning. Jamie Decker, 35, pleaded guilty on the charges of theft over $500-$1,000 and child abuse/neglect, according to Gibson County General Sessions Court. Investigators say she’d received donations through the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation since 2009. Decker is accused of lying about her son’s cancer for years to get donations for her family. For her theft charge she got six years, at 30 percent reduced to 9 months concurrent with Madison County. For her neglect charge, she got 11 months, 29 days suspended to 9 months to run concurrently.
