Report About Deadly I-40 Accident Released

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — One person was killed in fatal accident involving three semi-trucks Tuesday night. The accident happened around 9:56 p.m. on I-40 eastbound near milemarker 55 in Haywood County. According to the Memphis division of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Robert Hanna 69 and of Arkansas was killed in the accident. At the time of the accident, contractors were laying down reflectors, which caused traffic to come to a stop and go pace. Two trucks were stopped in a lane, when the truck driven by Hanna reportedly did not stop and ran into the the back of one, causing it to rear end the other. The other truck drivers were uninjured. All three drivers, including Hanna were wearing seat belts.
