Police Search For Suspect in Armed Robbery of Sonic Carhop
NORTH JACKSON — Police are hoping that newly released surveillance video will help catch a man accused of an armed robbery at a Jackson Sonic. According to police, a man approached a carhop at the Sonic located at 2101 N. Highland Avenue on April 24 at 7:35 p.m. He allegedly brandished a handgun and demanded that the carhop give him money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount. The man was described as dark-skinned male about 5’5″ and weighed between 170 and 180 pounds. The witness said that he had shoulder length dreads or braids. He was also wearing a black top and red pajama pants with the Family Guy character “Stewie” on them. The suspect was seen walking on foot toward the mall, then got picked up in a blue Nissan or Corolla which went toward the Carriage House area.
