Marshall band director leaving for new job
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – Marshall University Marching Thunder director Steve Barnett has taken a new job with Amro Music.
The Herald-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1kgDCcw ) reports that Barnett announced that he’s leaving the university in an email sent Tuesday to music students. He said he has accepted a position with Memphis, Tenn.-based Amro Music as the company’s west Tennessee educational representative.
Barnett has served as director of Marshall’s bands since 2003. He also is a professor of music and conducts the Marshall University Wind Symphony.
