Election Commission: Less Than 10 Percent of Voter Turnout in Madison County

WEST JACKSON — Election officials say primary races held little interest for voters in Madison County. Only 9.5 percent of the more than 63,700 registered voters took part in the elections. Traditionally, non-presidential primaries don’t draw large numbers of voters. Most election watchers say they are not surprised by the voter totals, but expect better turnout for the August elections.
