Rain Threatens West Tennessee Strawberry Festival Parade

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The rain has not arrived yet, but it is already having an effect on this weekend’s events. The West Tennessee Strawberry Festival is facing some possible changes in its event lineup. There is an 80 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms, which would potentially cancel Friday’s parade. According to the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce, the decision about the parade will be made Friday morning. “I do not know what the deciding factor will be,” Sherri McCarter, the director of the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce said. “We’re just going to take it a day at a time, an hour at time, and a minute at a time to figure out what we’re going to do, but that is a decision that will be made on Friday morning.” If the parade is rained out, it will not be rescheduled.
