DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The case of the man police say shot his friend in the back unintentionally will go to the grand jury. Ted Ingram, 20, appeared in court on Thursday afternoon to face reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence and simple possession of marijuana charges. Ingram had his case waived to the grand jury. On April 30, officers were called to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a woman arrived by personal vehicle with a gunshot wound to the back. Police say Ingram, who was sitting in the backseat of a car, accidentally shot his friend in the back, who was in the passenger seat. The driver drove to the hospital and Ingram threw the gun out the car on the way there. Ingram’s bond is still set at $50,000.
