Arkansas Bank Merges with Union City-based First State Bank

JACKSON, Tenn.- Simmons First National Bank out of Arkansas is merging with Union City-based First State Bank which has branches across West Tennessee. First State officials said workers nor customers should see any change. They told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Staff First State will keep its name and no branch closures are expected. Simmons First currently only has locations in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas. According to the terms of the merger, Simmons will acquire all outstanding common stock of first state. The transaction is valued at about $243 million.
