Police Investigate Drive-by Shooting

JACKSON, Tenn.- Jackson police are investigating a drive-by shooting where a car was sprayed with bullets Wednesday evening. Investigators with the Jackson Police Department said the window of a car on Campbell Street was shot out. after several shots were fired from inside a passing car. Details are limited right now but police said bullets only hit a car in the driveway. Officers said the home was not shot into. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News spoke with a woman who was outside across the street during the drive-by. She said she heard gunfire then heard the suspect’s car speed away. “It sounded like fireworks just pop, pop, pop and I jumped up and looked at didn’t see no fire,” said Mae Tennyson, who said she heard the gunfire. Police said no one was injured in the shooting. They were also unable to give a description of the car.
