Military Spouses Appreciation Day

WEST MADISON COUNTY — Not only are we celebrating mothers this weekend, but we are also saluting military spouses. The president signed a proclamation declaring Friday Military Spouse Appreciation day. To celebrate, people in Jackson and across the United States honored military spouses with ceremonies and activities. “If you’re out there and you know one of the spouses…make this day mean something,” Jayson Keel, a TN National Guard instructor pilot said. “Take a little extra step so a little something for that person.” Since 1984, the United States Armed Forces and the country set aside the Friday before Mother’s Day each year to pay tribute to spouses who continue to take care of their families and homes while their loved ones in uniform answer the call to serve their country.
