Threat of Rain Forces Madison Co. Relay for Life to Move Indoors

JACKSON, Tenn.- The threat of rain forced a change for Friday’s Madison County Relay for Life. For a second straight year, the festivities have been moved indoors. But that has not put a damper on the fun. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Anchor Keli McAlister is serving as emcee for the event. The luminaria ceremony got underway late Friday evening. Each luminary is lit in memory or in honor of loved ones that have been affected in some way by cancer. As of late Friday, there were more than fifteen hundred luminaries. Participants will be at the Jackson Fairgrounds Park pavilion throughout the night raising money in the fight against cancer until early morning.
