Shiloh Battlefield Hosting Wildflower Tour Rides

HARDIN Co., Tenn. — Teams of bike-riders in Hardin County rode nearly 8 miles while stopping to see the local wildflowers bloom. Shiloh Battlefield will host wildflower bike tours all during May for National Bicycle Month. Organizers say they ride for 8 miles across their battlefield and have specifics stops on the route all to get a glimpse of the flowers, trees and plants that bloom in the area in spring. On top of bike tours, the battlefield also hosts walking tours. The dates are as follows: Sunday, May 11th, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13th, at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16th, at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18th, at 11 a.m. In addition, 90-minute wildflower walking tours will also be offered on the following dates: Friday, May 16th, at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, May 18th, at 2:00 p.m. Those interested in participating are invited to contact the Shiloh Visitor Center at 731-689-5696 to register in advance. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles, water and wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Severe weather will cancel the programs.
