DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — Dozens of dogs in Dyer County are in danger of being homeless because of a lack of funds. The Dyer County Animal Shelter is in danger of shutting down unless its request for more money is granted. On Wednesday, the animal shelter’s president addressed the county’s budget committee and asked for more money for the shelter. Without the money, it would be forced to close. County officials say the Dyersburg-Dyer County Humane Society is in a deficit, with a shortage of more than $64,000 for their budget year. WBBJ keep you posted of any decision.
