Police: Apartment Burglar in Custody

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Police say the person responsible for burglarizing an unoccupied mid-town apartment building is in custody. Richard Wayne Pickard, 43, of Jackson was arrested and charged with Burglary and Theft of Property over $500. On April 22, several water heaters were stolen from the Highland Court Apartments, which are currently not occupied and awaiting possible renovations. Investigators with the Jackson Police Department‘s Burglary & Theft Unit conducted an investigation and identified Pickard as the burglar. He was arraigned on Thursday morning in Jackson City Court and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
