Arrest Made Minutes After Attempted Pawn Shop Burglary

EAST JACKSON — Two juveniles and one adult were arrested after police say they caused hundreds of dollars in damage while trying to break into a pawn shop. Police responded to Convenient Pawn shop, located on 725 Old Hickory Boulevard, Monday around 1 a.m. where they discovered a window had been broken. An investigation was conducted and three suspects, Marico Deberry, 18, and two juveniles, were arrested just minutes after the burglar alarm was struck. All three suspects are Jackson residents. The pawn shop suffered an estimate of $800 to $1,000 in damage, including the broken window and some wires that were cut. Deberry was arraigned and is being held in lieu of $40,000 bond. The two 16-year-old juveniles were transported to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center. Their court date has yet to be determined.
