Brenda Woods Sentenced for 2009 Voter Fraud

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — A former Bolivar city council member was sentenced for a 2009 crime on Wednesday. According to a Shelby County District Attorney, Brenda Woods was sentenced to two years of community corrections for procuring illegal voters in the 2009 Bolivar municipal elections. Woods was originally sentenced to concurrent terms of two years in prison, but McNairy County Circuit Court Judge J. Weber McCraw suspended the sentences. Woods can no longer vote or run for elected office.
